David Tennant’s Companion Returns For Season 3 Of Doctor Who Audio Series

One of David Tennant’s most underrated companions is returning for another season of Doctor Who audio adventures. Throughout his run as the Tenth Doctor, Tennant’s companions included Billie Piper as Rose Tyler, Freema Agyeman as Martha Jones, and Catherine Tate as Donna Noble. These companions generally followed him for at least one season, but there was one who saw only a single episode: Jenny (Georgia Tennant). As the Doctor’s daughter, Jenny has been roaming the universe out of sight of her singular parent.

Ahead of Doctor Who season 14, RadioTimes.com has confirmed that Jenny will return for another Big Finish audio story. The third season of Jenny – The Doctor’s Daughter has been titled “Saving Time.” It is expected to be released in October and is already available for pre-order through Big Finish. The story will continue the adventure from “Still Running” as Jenny works to escape another version of the COLT-5000 android.

Where Has Jenny Been Since Leaving Doctor Who?

Jenny Appeared In Only One Doctor Who Episode

Jenny first appeared in Doctor Who season 4, episode 6, “The Doctor’s Daughter” and revealed that she is secretly the Doctor’s genetic child. To create her, the people of Messaline reproduced a human being from the Doctor’s DNA using a progenation machine. Before she and the Doctor can truly bond, Jenny is shot and killed by a former Messaline ally. The Doctor hopes to see her regenerate, but the regeneration is delayed. Jenny returns after the Doctor has already left, and she begins a spacefaring journey to continue the Doctor’s mission.

Since Jenny left the Tenth Doctor’s side, she never appeared on the show again. Though David Tennant returned for the recent specials, it is unlikely that Jenny will be joining the Doctor Who season 14 cast, given her complete absence from the show since her first and only appearance. Instead, her story continued solely through prose, comics, and audio adventures. Outside the original “Jenny: The Doctor’s Daughter” and the “Still Running” sequel, Jenny appeared in “The Legacy of Time,” “Protectors of Time,” and “Once and Future.”

She will need to continue to fight the COLT-5000 in this upcoming audio drama season, which will be continuing her story.
